She was lucky that Japan evacuated schools first onto the available ships. For a long time the various surviving humans drifted about. Until they found the Drift. It was the largest ship graveyard in the galaxy. No one wanted it, and so from the space junk humans created colonies of space stations. All surrounded by debris. Haphazard and eclectic. Here humanity found a chance. Collectively thiese stations and the junk around it is called the Drift. Inspired by one of my favorite animated movies, 'Titan AE'.
